How much do you charge???
That’s the first question that most people ask me. I wonder if that’s the first question they ask about their dress, their flowers, their photographer or their reception venue? I think perhaps they are more interested in what they’re getting rather than just how much.
I like to think that my services are at least as important as the dress, the flowers, the venue – if not more important because without your wedding ceremony there is no reason for all the rest.
Most wedding ceremonies last approximately 30 minutes from the time the bride arrives to the point when the guests are congratulating the happy couple. Many people think that the celebrant's performance in the 'short' time on the wedding day is what they’re paying for but in fact this is just the “tip of the iceberg”.
I will spend between 10 and 20 hours in preparation time for your ceremony. Your ceremony will be personally written for you and may include your choice of readings, a handfasting, a rose ceremony, a ring warming ceremony or anything else you choose. Most meetings are held outside of business hours to accommodate the needs of working couples, but I am available by phone or email at all times (if I do happen to be unavailable there is always provision for you to leave a message, either with my husband or on the answering machine). I am more than happy to meet you at my home, your home or on “neutral ground” if it makes you feel more comfortable.
My fee of $495 includes the following:
- Initial and Subsequent Consultations
- Witnessing & Lodgement of Notice of Intended Marriage
- Loan of a Wedding Ceremony Planning Kit
- Draft Of Ceremony
- Presentation Copy Of Ceremony
- Conducting the Ceremony on the Day
- Performing Legal Functions
- Forwarding Marriage Certificate to State Registry
- Postage, Fax and Phone Costs in Australia
- Rehearsal if required
- Travel up to 30km each way
- Table with cloth and chair for the signing
- PA system (including music if required)
